IMPORTANT - New EPP Regulations For Shipping Acid

There were major changes to the EPP (Explosives, Precursors and Poisons) Regulations that came in to effect on 1 July 2018 - these included the sale and shipping of sulphuric acid.
Sulphuric acid has been reclassified as a regulated substance and as such cannot be sold or shipped to anyone who does not hold a valid EPP licence. This means it is an offence for us to supply or ship motorcycle battery electrolyte to anyone who does not hold the necessary licence.
This means that all dry charged motorcycle batteries have to be shipped without acid from 1 July 2018 and you will have to source the acid locally. The regulations do specifically allow members of public to have a battery filled with acid.
We offer a free filling service from our premises in Enfield for any batteries purchased from MDS..
These regulations do not effect the Yuasa YTX/YTZ Series Maintenance Free batteries as we will fill and seal these prior to despatch.

Shipping Restrictions For Hazardous Substances

In addition to the EPP Regulations explained above, there are strict rules and regulations that govern the shipping of hazardous substances.
If your order is affected by any of these regulations and restrictions, we will always keep you informed and please bear with us as these rules are in place for important safety reasons.
