Industrial UPS Battery Case Study

We were recently asked by one of our UPS maintenance clients, Cetronic Power Solutions Limited, to quote for a major Industrial UPS battery replacement in a large power station.

The application was for twin 10kva UPS, parallel redundant so each UPS had to have its own battery set, with a runtime requirement of 6 hours.

The customer was replacing plante cells which were 22 years old and at the end of their design life.

Once the system had been sized and having reviewed a like for like battery replacement, the decision was made that the client would change to CSB TPL1000T (12V 100Ah) VRLA Front Terminal batteries.

The criteria for this decision was based on ease of future maintenance of front terminal design batteries, the level of support provided by MDS & CSB Battery and the cost/availability of the product.

The final installation consisted of 128 pieces of the CSB TPL121000T.

These were delivered direct to the customer's site where they were installed by our client's engineers in custom racks as shown in our pictures.

All the batteries supplied passed our client's stringent test procedures and are now fully installed and in operation.
