What is the Difference Between F1 and F2 Type Battery Terminals

17 April 2018  |  Tom

There are numerous battery terminals types - one question we are often asked is what the difference is between F1 and F2 terminals.

The simple answer is F2 terminals are slightly wider.

These Faston or Spade Type blade connectors are common on sealed lead acid batteries up to 12V 15Ah capacity; these connectors come in two types referred to as F1 and F2 - at first glance these look very similar but the F2 terminal is 1/16" wider then the F1 terminal.

F1 terminals are slightly narrower measuring 3/16" wide (0.187" / 4.8mm)

F2 terminals are wider measuring 1/4" wide (0.25" / 6.35mm)

We are able to supply slip on adaptors from F2 >> F1 and vice versa.

We state which terminal type is fitted on all our CSB and Yuasa industrial batteries - if you are unsure or need some advice, please contact our sales team on 0800 310 2100.
